I headed out to Albuquerque to see the special re-release of the Star Trek episode The Best of Both Worlds (three theaters in Albuquerque are the only places in New Mexico it's showing). It's an hour's drive from where I'm staying. Whee! Lots of nothing between me and there. Double whee!
I went to a Carl's Jr. for dinner. It had locked bathrooms, and the cashier made me take off my backpack before going in. I found that very odd, but obliged. Upon returning, I was told the policy is in place for pretty much every restaurant in just that one tiny corner of town, because they have druggies shoot up in there and almost die, and robbers unpack their guns, etc. The cashier was very sure to warn me to be careful here. Fascinating!
Also, in this part of the country, Carl's Jr. sells fried zucchini as a side. Sweet!
I also got my truck inspected while I was in Albuquerque, because it's that time for me, and Santa Fe doesn't do inspections. Very weird.
The Jiffy Lube was pretty great- they had free popcorn and a free soda fountain with Coke Zero. Yay!
Some random photo shoot was going on across the street. I thought it was a pretty odd location for one.
