I'm certainly seeing plenty of laundromats it my travels. This one is particularly weird because it's fancy. It's immaculate, it's nicely decorated, they have a card-based payment system instead of piles of quarters, they have a ton of varieties of washers/dryers so you can pay a small amount for small loads, or save by washing in bulk. They have dryers that handled my 30lbs of clothes all at once with no problem. They have free wifi, big-screen TVs, plush thin-leather chairs, and public computers.

That's all very weird for a laundromat. Most laundromats are passable at best, junky at worst, with half of the equipment broken, and just barely enough seating that you won't complain that you can't wait while your stuff gets cleaned.
