Do you know what Minnesota is home to? Hormel, and the Spam Museum! Let’s go!
It seems this food truck is a longstanding family business. How interesting. SO MANY CANS I’ll admit, even with all of my computer experience, I’ve never seen a sunny side up trackball before This was one of those old-timey things where the cardboard cutouts moved on tracks while a recording “acted” for them. The set actually rotates between three scenes. They had a pulley and rope to try hoisting a crate of Spam like the soldiers did during the war. Each one weighs 56 pounds. Just a few It’s all fake! Kevin and I watched some folks play this Spam trivia contest run by a video narrator. It was pretty entertaining. And, of course, no Spam museum is complete without the Monty Python sketch playing! :D
The gift shop had a few odds and ends, not all of which made sense…
Do we really want our cars to smell like peanut butter? Yeah, it’s Minnesota, land of 1000 lakes, but I still feel like I missed some connection between Spam and fishing… Oh wait… You can, of course, buy Spam at the Spam Museum
And that’s our spamtastic adventure! Visiting the museum was a lot of fun! And now I know more than I ever needed to about Spam… Including the fact that it actually doesn’t taste too bad!
